About the Fulfilment settings tab (delivery prices, exclude regions, courier, DDP, presets)

The Fulfilment tab in Settings covers how theprintspace fulfils and ships your orders: a Delivery prices card choosing which shipping prices we push to your store, three region/country switch cards with real cost and delivery consequences, and your saved Product presets. This article explains what each one does before you change anything. To actually change the switches, see How to configure fulfilment settings.

Delivery prices

The top card sets which delivery prices we attach to products when they're first pushed to your store — either Recommended delivery prices (standardised, conversion-optimised, the default) or Pass-through cost prices (exactly what theprintspace charges to ship, by region and size). The choice applies to newly created products and drops only; already-pushed products keep their current profile. To use entirely your own rates instead, create your own delivery profile in your Shopify admin and move the products onto it — we never touch a profile you created. Product presets

Your saved product setups (sizes, framing, editions and prices captured from an existing product) are managed from this tab too — rename or delete them here. See How to use product presets.

The region and country switches

The three switch cards below write the same records that the admin team can see and edit, so admin and merchant changes stay in sync. They apply both to automatic store orders and to manual orders you place yourself.

The eight delivery regions

The two region-switch cards have one switch per delivery region:

UK, Germany, EU, EEA, United States, Canada, AUS / NZ, Rest of World.

Every destination falls into one of these eight zones, and your switch for that zone is what applies.

Exclude regions from Fulfilment

Switch a region on to exclude it. theprintspace will then not fulfil any order that delivers to that region. Such an order is still created on our system but is held as suspended rather than processed, so it won't be charged or sent to production.

Leave a region off and we fulfil there as normal.

Upgrade to Courier

Switch a region on to force its orders onto Express Courier instead of the cheaper tracked-postal default — even for small or low-value items.

Two reasons to use it:

  • Courier is tracked and is more resilient against tariffs, customs, and import issues.
  • Courier is a prerequisite for Delivery Duty Paid. Only courier postage can carry DDP, so the courier switch is what makes DDP available in a region.

theprintspace runs production facilities in the United States, Germany, and the UK. If you regularly ship to a region outside those, courier (and optionally DDP) is worth considering.

Delivery Duty Paid (DDP)

DDP pre-pays import duty and GST so your customer never gets a customs bill at the door. The order's incoterm becomes DDP instead of the default DAP.

DDP is a switch per country and is available for exactly seven countries:

Canada, Australia, Norway, New Zealand, Switzerland, Iceland, and Mexico.

What it costs

When DDP fires on an order, the charge added is:

  • Import duty + GST — calculated live for that specific order by SimplyDuty.
  • A courier handling fee — a flat £6.24 / €7.11 / $7.49 per order, depending on the order currency.

The duty and GST on top vary by order. These charges land on your production invoice, not on your customer — DDP means you pre-pay so the customer doesn't.

DDP needs courier postage, so the two settings are linked. When a change forces a linked change, you'll see a toast saying linked settings were also adjusted.

The rules:

  • Turn DDP on for a countryUpgrade to Courier switches on automatically for that country's region.
  • Turn Upgrade to Courier off for a region → DDP switches off for every country in that region.
  • Turning DDP off, or turning courier on, never changes anything else.

So to offer DDP you don't need to flip courier first — enabling DDP does it for you. And if you drop courier for a region, expect any DDP in that region to switch off with it.
