A certificate of authenticity (COA) ships with each print to give buyers proof of provenance. It isn't a one-time account setting — you choose whether to include a COA, and which design, on each drop. Your branding (artist name, signature, logo) is set once and pulled onto every certificate automatically.
Set your branding first
The COA pulls three fields from your account:
- Artist name — set in the Artist details card under Settings → Account.
- Logo and Signature — uploaded in the Media Library (left sidebar → Media Library).
Set these before you publish. If any are missing, the certificate shows blank where the branding should be.
Choose the COA on a drop
In the drop wizard, the Certificate of Authenticity step asks whether to include a COA:
- Choose Yes, include COA (or No, skip this to ship without one).
- On the Choose your Certificate design screen, pick a design from the grid of six cards.
- Each card has a Preview link — open it to see the layout before you commit.
- Continue.
You can change this later on a published drop via Edit Options → Certificate of Authenticity.
Designs and cost
There are six designs:
- Classic — free, no fulfilment cost (carries a Free badge).
- Clean, Minimalist, Modern, Traditional, Typewriter — premium designs, charged per certificate plus VAT.
The per-certificate cost is shown on each card in your billing currency and flows into your pricing automatically — the Pricing card's fulfilment cost already includes the COA cost for the design you picked.
Edition tracking
For a limited edition, each certificate carries a unique edition number (e.g. "23 of 50") alongside the artwork title and your branding. Numbers track automatically as prints sell. Open editions show the same template without a numbered count.
To set an edition size, see How to set edition sizes.
Multiple artists
If you sell work by more than one artist, set up separate branding per artist and choose the right certificate on each drop. See Setting up multiple certificates for different artists.
White or light logos
Certificates print on a white background. If your logo is white or very light (common when your site uses a dark background), it's automatically darkened on the certificate so it stays visible — colours keep their hue, so a pale gold mark becomes dark gold rather than grey. You don't need a second logo version.
One example certificate, or one per size
By default the sale page's gallery shows a single example certificate. If you'd rather show a certificate image for each size tier, turn on Certificate per size edition in your Page Style's Product gallery section. Every buyer still receives the correct certificate for the exact print they order either way.
