Each drop can ship with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) per print. Pick one of 6 designs in the Certificate step — one is free, the other five are charged per certificate.
Where to find it
In the wizard you'll hit the Certificate of Authenticity step alongside the editions setup. After publishing, edit it via Edit Options → Certificate of Authenticity.
The step first asks whether you want a COA at all. Choose Yes, include COA to pick a design, or No, skip this to ship without one.
Pick a design
On the Choose your Certificate design screen, pick from a grid of six cards:
- Classic — the free design (carries a Free badge). £0 fulfilment cost.
- Five premium designs (Clean, Minimalist, Modern, Traditional, Typewriter) — each adds a per-certificate cost on top of fulfilment.
The premium price shown on the card is your billing currency's unit cost plus VAT — e.g. £2.08 + VAT per certificate for GBP. The exact figure resolves from your billing country, so it may differ in EUR or USD.
The cost flows into your pricing math automatically — the Pricing card's fulfilment cost column already includes the COA cost for the design you picked.
Required branding
The COA pulls these branding fields from your account:
- Artist name — set in the Artist details card under Settings → Account.
- Logo — uploaded in the Media Library (left sidebar → Media Library), or via the Logo Upload step in the wizard. This is your artist logo, not the packaging sticker.
- Signature — uploaded in the Media Library, then chosen during drop setup.
Note: the Branding sticker card (at the top of Settings → Fulfilment) is a separate biodegradable packaging sticker for shipments — it has nothing to do with the COA.
If any of these are missing, the COA shows blank fields where the branding should be. Preview a design before publishing.
Limited vs open editions
- Limited editions — each COA carries a unique edition number (e.g. "23 of 50") plus the artwork title and your branding. Numbers track automatically as prints sell.
- Open editions — same template without a numbered count; just the artwork title and your branding.
Multiple artists in one drop
If you sell work by multiple artists from the same account, set up the right artist name and signature for each drop. See Setting up multiple certificates for different artists.
The certificate on your store page
When a product includes a COA, a preview image of the certificate also appears in the product's image gallery on your sale page. If you'd rather customers didn't see it there, you can hide just the image (the physical certificate still ships) via your Page Style's Product gallery → Certificate (COA) shot toggle — see Do Certificates of Authenticity show on my store page.
Skipping the COA
You can skip COAs entirely by choosing No, skip this at the start of the step (or Skip COA on the design screen). The fulfilment cost drops by the COA cost — £0 if you'd picked Classic, or the premium unit cost if you'd picked one of the five paid designs. Most artists keep COAs on: they add perceived value for a small cost increase.
Preview before launching
Each design card has a Preview link that opens a sample of that template in a new tab — check it before you continue. Triple-check artist name spelling, logo crispness, and signature size; typos here ship with every customer order.
Once an edition has sold — or you mark it sold yourself — you can download its certificate. Go to the Product page, scroll to the Variants card, and click the variant's value in the Editions sold column to open the Editions dialog; then click the download icon in the Cert column for that edition. See How do I download a certificate of authenticity? for the full steps.
