The Letter Library is a saved set of A4 letter inserts you can reuse across drops without re-uploading the same letter every time. Manage it in the Media Library (left sidebar → Media Library).
What's in the library
Every letter insert you've added — whether uploaded from the Media Library or chosen while building a drop — appears here. The library is the single source for your reusable letters.
Letters are upload-only. There's no in-app editor: you supply a finished A4 PDF. Files within 7% of A4 are auto-cropped to fit; anything further off is rejected. Max file size is 25 MB.
How to manage
- Upload — add a new letter (A4 PDF) to the library.
- Set default — star one letter as the default. New drops pre-select it; you can override per drop.
- Delete — remove a letter you no longer use.
The first letter you upload is set as the default automatically.
Default letter
The default is recorded on your user profile and is pre-selected when you start a new drop. Useful patterns:
- One generic "Thank you for buying" letter as the default.
- Drop-specific letters that override the default per drop.
- Update the default seasonally (e.g. a holiday-themed letter).
How letters interact with drops
- In the drop wizard you pick a letter from the library, upload a new one, or skip.
- A letter uploaded during a drop is saved to the library too, so it's available for reuse.
- Library entries uploaded from the Media Library aren't tied to any single drop.
Behind the scenes, letters are stored as page_assets rows with type letter_insert. Library entries have no page_id, so they aren't bound to a drop; the default is held on user_profiles.default_letter_asset_id.
Cost
The per-letter cost is your billing currency's unit price plus VAT (around £2.08 + VAT in GBP) and is charged per letter sent with an order, per drop. Keeping lots of letters in the library is free — only sending them with orders incurs the cost.
Tip
Maintain 2–3 letters in the library:
- Default thank-you — minimal, used on all drops.
- Limited edition — slightly more elaborate for high-value collectors.
- Drop-specific — a tailored letter per release.
