When you choose Sell an artwork or design from Mission Control, a chat-style wizard walks you through setting up a drop one card at a time. It's a branching flow, not a fixed list of steps: which cards you see, and in what order, depends on your choices (for example, framed vs unframed, a timed sale vs a permanent store, and whether you upload new artwork or pick existing products). Your progress auto-saves as you go, so you can leave at any point and resume later from the Drops page — see How to resume an incomplete drop.
What the wizard covers
Working from a new-artwork drop, the cards appear roughly in this order:
- Give this drop a name — name your drop.
- Select artworks for this drop — create new files or add from your existing products.
- Artwork Title(s) — check and edit the names that will appear on your store. (Skipped if you only picked existing Shopify products — those already have names and variants.)
- Framing Options — decide whether to sell framed as well as unframed, and set a frame colour (Black, White or Oak) per artwork.
- Borders — set print borders.
- Paper choice — pick the paper your prints are made on, with AI-recommended options.
- Set Editions — sell as open or limited editions.
- Signatures, numbering and mount boards — finishing touches for how prints are presented (titled Signatures and numbering when you sell unframed only).
- Certificate of Authenticity — choose whether to include a COA and its design.
- Personal Letter Insert — optionally add a personal letter to the envelope, then Upload Your Letter.
- Pricing — review AI-recommended sizes and prices, and adjust them.
- When would you like to run the sale? — choose a timed sale (with dates) or a permanent store.
- Hero image for store page — pick the main visual collectors see when they land.
- Pre-sale holding page — upload a teaser for the pre-launch page. (Skipped for permanent stores that launch immediately — there's no countdown to hold for.)
- Short Artist Bio — tell collectors about you and your work.
- Upload a headshot — add your photo.
- Upload your logo — add your brand logo.
- Upload your signature — add your signature for COAs and prints.
- Page Design — pick a saved style or recreate one from a URL.
The flow then lands on the Edit Options hub, which is where it ends.
The order isn't rigid. Early on, when asked How would you like to set this up?, choosing Use our recommendations rather than Create the drop manually (or Create products manually on the product-only journey) hands sizes, papers, frames and prices to our recommendations and skips the manual stepping. On the manual path, right after upload and titles you're offered Create from an existing product (presets) — applying a saved preset skips the product-level cards too (see How to use product presets) — or Create step-by-step to decide each part yourself. Picking only existing Shopify products also skips the product-level cards (borders, paper, editions, pricing) entirely. Frame colour is a real variant axis, so a framed product ships to Shopify as separate Black / White / Oak frame variants.
The Edit Options hub
The hub ("Your page and editing options") is the end of the flow. It groups everything you set up into two sections:
- Products and prices — Prices, Edition sizes, Product & variant choices, Change product shots, Paper choice, Borders, Mount, signature & numbering, Certificate of Authenticity, Letter insert.
- Store design and content — Page style, Page hero image, Short Artist Bio, Artwork Descriptions, Important FAQs, Headshot, Logo, Signature, Holding Page Settings.
Click any tile to jump back and change that setting. You Publish changes from this hub, or Exit to save your progress and publish later. See What is the Edit Options hub and How to publish a drop.
Auto-save
Your progress saves automatically as you move through the cards. There's no live page preview during the flow — review and edit everything from the Edit Options hub, then publish.
