How to set a drop's sale schedule

early access

This wizard step — titled When would you like to run the sale? — sets when the drop opens to the public, when it closes, and the timezone the dates are anchored to. You pick between a time-limited drop (the default) and a permanent always-on listing.

Where to find it

The When would you like to run the sale? card runs during the wizard, after Pricing. After publishing, edit the schedule via Edit Options → Sale dates.

Choose a sale type

The toggle at the top of the card offers:

  • Time-limited sale — has a defined launch date and end date. Recommended (creates urgency, drives conversion). See Why run timed sales drops.
  • Permanent store — has a launch date but no end date; sells indefinitely. Use only when you have a steady, evergreen audience and don't want the urgency dynamic.

Launch and end dates

The launch date row (Set launch date) and, for a time-limited sale, the close date row (Set close date) each pair a calendar picker with a wall-clock time input. A single Time zone dropdown below the dates anchors both the launch and the end.

The system converts the dates to UTC for storage and back to wall time for display.

Timezone

Pick the timezone from the Time zone dropdown. You can override it per drop — useful for launches timed to a specific market (e.g., always launch at 9am local for your biggest audience region).

Default schedule

If you don't pick dates, the default is:

  • Launch — today at 09:00 in your residency timezone.
  • End — 5 days after launch at 23:59 in the same timezone.

Most drops run 5–14 days. Longer runs flatten urgency; shorter runs leave money on the table.

Early access window

Email subscribers can be granted access before the public launch — see Why give early access to email subscribers. The early-access window is configured separately (often 24–48 hours pre-launch), with a specific subscriber link generated at publish time.

How dates appear on the sale page

  • Before launch: countdown timer to launch.
  • During the sale: countdown timer to end.
  • After the sale ends: page either shows "Sold out" or "Sale ended" with a link to your other drops.

The countdown timer respects each visitor's timezone — a London visitor sees London time, a Tokyo visitor sees Tokyo time, both pointing to the same underlying UTC moment.

Editing dates after publishing

You can change launch and end dates after publishing. If the drop has launched, lowering the end date doesn't refund existing buyers — it just stops new orders. Raising the end date extends the sale.
