What is acrylic / face-mounting?
What's often called 'acrylic' or 'face-mounting' is offered as Acrylic Reverse mounting. Your print is bonded to the back of a sheet of clear acrylic, so you view the image through the acrylic. The result is a glossy, vivid, gallery-grade finish with real depth — colours look rich and the surface is sleek and contemporary.
Key things to know:
- Look: high-gloss, high-impact; the acrylic adds luminosity and makes colours pop, which suits photography and bold, colourful work especially well.
- Build: it's rigid and ready to hang, typically with a concealed fixing on the back for a clean, 'floating' look on the wall.
- Archival: it's an exhibition-grade, protective finish — the acrylic shields the print surface.
It's one of several finishing options alongside framing and other mounting (such as Dibond aluminium and archival board mounting), so you can choose the presentation that best suits the work and where it'll hang.

Acrylic Reverse: backing and paper
Acrylic Reverse mounting requires choosing a Backing: White Perspex, Black Perspex, Aluminium or Dibond (no price difference between them).
It's available on C-type Matt (Fuji Matt) paper only — on other papers the option is disabled with a "C-type Matt paper only" hint, and switching paper away from C-type Matt clears an Acrylic Reverse selection.
