For valuable or rare artwork that goes into a frame, theprintspace offers fully reversible museum-quality mounting techniques. Unlike dry mounting, these can be undone without damaging the print.
Hinge mounting
Standard archival mount for framed prints. The print is attached to the backboard with hinges of archival tape along the top edge, allowing it to hang naturally within the window mount.
Float mounting
The print sits proud of the backboard with all four edges visible. Used when the deckled or torn edge of the paper is part of the artistic intent.
Book mounting
For valuable or rare artwork. The print is held by minimal archival tape against a 100% cotton-rag mount board. Prints won't sit perfectly flat, but the process is completely reversible — no adhesives touch the artwork itself.
When to choose archival mounting
- Original work or limited editions where preservation matters.
- Pieces that may be rotated, reframed, or sold as collectibles later.
- Anything intended to last for generations.
