Limited subset — typically used for modern aesthetics:
- White — Thin, Square
- Black — Thin, Square
- Oak — Thin, Thin Rounded
Tray frame mouldings
A short single-name set — no separate profile choice:
- Beech
- White
- Black
- Walnut
How to choose
- Match the artwork tone — warm artwork (sepia, earthy) works with oak, walnut, beech. Cool / monochrome with white, black, silver.
- Match the room — modern interior → black or white. Traditional → oak, walnut, ornate gold.
- Profile thickness — thin profiles for delicate work, wide for bold statements.
- Square profiles — squared-off corners feel more architectural; rounded feels softer / more handmade.
Wide vs Thin
- Thin mouldings (~15–25 mm wide) keep the focus on the artwork.
- Wide mouldings (~40–60 mm wide) become a design statement themselves.
- Square is a wide moulding with squared edges — often heavier-feeling.
Ornate gold
The Ornate Gold mouldings are decorative period-style frames — best for traditional, classical, or antique-inspired work. Avoid for contemporary art unless the contrast is intentional.
Within the order flow
After the Frame Type card, the Moulding card filters to the subset for that type. Choose the Material dropdown first (Oak, Walnut, etc.), then the Profile dropdown (Thin, Wide, Square, …) where the material offers more than one; Tray-frame mouldings are single-name, so there's no Profile step.
