Frame types available on Artful Gallery

Artful Gallery offers four frame types. Each gives the print a different presentation, and each has its own subset of available mouldings, glazing, and mount options.

Standard Frame

Classic profile with full customisation — pick any moulding, glass type, hanging hardware, and window mount.

  • Best for: traditional fine-art presentation, gallery-grade work.
  • Notable: includes the broadest moulding selection (22 options).

Box Frame

Deep-set frame with a modern, gallery feel. The print sits inside the box, creating depth.

  • Best for: modern, minimal aesthetics; high-impact contemporary photography.
  • Mouldings: more limited than standard — 6 options (White Thin/Square, Black Thin/Square, Oak Thin/Thin Rounded).

Floating Frame

Print appears to float within the frame with a visible gap around the edges — no window mount, no glass between print and frame edge.

  • Best for: textured papers where you want to show the deckle edge, or any print where the paper itself is part of the artwork.
  • Mouldings: same options as Box Frame.

Tray Frame

Shallow tray with a clean edge. The print sits flush within the recessed tray — no glass, no window mount.

  • Best for: canvas prints, dry-mounted prints, modern minimalist installations.
  • Mouldings: a short single-name set (Beech, White, Black, Walnut).

Within the order flow

You reach this in the order journey (select images in the library → Order Prints). The Frame Type card appears after the Framing & Mounting card (where you pick Bespoke frame). Pick a type, then the Moulding card filters to the subset for that type, and glass / hanging / window mount are configured on the Frame Options card.
