Every drop sale page has an Artist Bio section that pairs your headshot with a short paragraph about who you are. Edit it during the wizard on the Short Artist Bio card, or later via Edit Options → Short Artist Bio.
Why it matters
Bios convert. A buyer choosing between two similar prints will pick the one whose artist they connect with — even a two- or three-sentence bio reframes the purchase from "anonymous transaction" to "buying someone's work."
Let us write it for you
Not sure where to start? The Short Artist Bio card has a Write this for me button.
- Click Write this for me.
- Enter your Website URL and your Instagram URL (either is fine; both is better).
- Click Generate bio.
It drafts a first-person bio of two or three short sentences from your uploaded artwork plus any text it can read off your website. The draft drops straight into the editable box — nothing saves until you click Continue, so tidy it up first.
A few things worth knowing:
- It's grounded, not invented. It will only write about what it can actually see in your artwork or read on your site. It won't make up places, awards, dates, or training it can't back up. That's deliberate.
- Add a working website link. If it can't read any artwork and can't read your website, it stops and tells you it has nothing to base the bio on. A reachable website link is the easiest way to give it something to work with.
- Instagram is a hint only. We don't log in to scrape Instagram — the handle just nudges the tone and name. The artwork and website text do the real work.
What to include
Whether you write it yourself or edit the draft, aim for two or three short sentences:
- Where you're based — city or country grounds the work.
- What you make — medium, subject, recurring themes.
- Why — the personal hook that makes your practice yours.
- Optional: where collectors have seen you (a recent show, publication, or commission).
Avoid:
- Long-form artist statements (those belong on your dedicated About page, not a sale page).
- Awards lists with no context.
- Marketing-speak — "visionary creator of bold contemporary works…" reads as filler.
The bio is per-drop, but pre-fills
Your bio is set per-drop. Most artists reuse the same one — the Short Artist Bio editor pre-fills with your existing bio when you edit a drop, so you only write it once.
Pairing with the headshot
The bio sits next to the headshot you upload via the Headshot step (or Edit Options → Headshot). Pick a photo where you're in your studio or holding the work — it gives the bio visual context.
Where it appears
- The Artist Bio panel on the sale page.
- Carries the headshot, your name (from Settings → Account → Artist details), and the bio paragraph.
