The Short Artist Bio card in the drop wizard has a Write this for me button that drafts a bio from your artwork. Use it if you don't know where to start — it gives you a grounded first draft you can edit, rather than a blank box.
How to use it
- On the Short Artist Bio card, click Write this for me.
- Enter your Website URL, your Instagram URL, or both. Either alone is fine.
- Click Generate bio.
The draft drops straight into the editable text box. Nothing saves until you click Continue, so read it over and edit it first.
What it reads
The bio is written by Claude (Sonnet 4.6) using three signals, in order of weight:
- Your artwork — it looks at up to three of your approved artwork images. This is the core of the draft.
- Your website — it pulls any plain text it can read off the page you link. This is best-effort: many sites are image-only or block bots, so it's a bonus, not a requirement.
- Your Instagram — used only as a name and tone hint. We don't log in to read Instagram (the login wall blocks it), so the handle just nudges wording.
What you get
A short, first-person bio — two or three sentences, British English, warm and plain. No clichés, no marketing hype, no hashtags, no markdown.
It won't invent facts
The generator is deliberately grounded. It will not make up places, awards, dates, or training that aren't supported by your website text or your artwork. If it can't back something up, it keeps the bio about the work itself. That means an accurate-but-modest draft, not an impressive-but-fictional one — edit in any real credentials it left out.
If it errors
If there's no artwork it can fetch and no readable website text, it stops and tells you:
We couldn't read your website or artwork to base the bio on.
To fix it:
- Add a working website link that loads without a login, or
- Make sure at least one artwork is approved on the drop, then
retry. If your site is image-only or bot-walled, the website link won't give it anything — lean on the artwork instead.
Edit before you continue
The draft is a starting point, not a finished bio. You can rewrite it freely in the text box. When you're happy, click Continue — that's the only step that saves it. The same bio then shows in the Artist Bio panel on your sale page, next to your headshot.
