The Paper choice card doesn't hand you a fixed pair of suggestions. It ranks the whole paper catalogue by how often the AI picked each paper across your drop, then flags the strongest matches with a Recommended pill.
Where it sits in the flow
The card is titled Paper choice and comes straight after the Framing Options step. By the time it opens, the AI has already analysed every artwork in the drop, so its picks are ready to rank.
How the ranking works
When the AI sizes up your drop, it picks one paper for each artwork (and for each size it suggests). The card counts those picks across all artworks and sizes, then sorts papers by how many picks each one got:
- A paper chosen for several artworks, or across several sizes, ranks higher.
- The catalogue is reordered with the highest-ranked papers first, then the rest in catalogue order.
This means the recommendations reflect your actual drop, not a one-size-fits-all default.
What you see
- The top 3 papers show by default, so the card stays scannable.
- Each AI pick carries a Recommended pill (the sparkle icon).
- The remaining papers sit behind See other papers (N) — click to expand the full list, grouped into Giclée and C-Type.
The top-ranked recommended paper is pre-selected for you. You can pick any other paper instead — the choice still applies to every print in the drop.
One artwork vs many
- A single-artwork drop usually surfaces just one Recommended paper — there's only one set of AI picks to rank.
- A multi-artwork drop can show several Recommended papers, when different artworks favour different substrates.
Either way, only one paper is used for the whole drop. You're choosing the best single fit, with the AI's ranking to guide you.
Editing an existing product
If you re-open Paper choice for a published drop, the paper you already chose is pinned to the top of the list so you can see it first — even if it sits outside the default top 3. The ranking still applies underneath; your current choice just isn't buried.
