Print files need to meet a few technical specs to print at full quality. The system has built-in resizing and border tools if you're not comfortable doing this manually.
File format
- JPEG at maximum quality (12), format set to Baseline Standard, or
- Flattened TIFF (no layers).
Resolution
- 300 pixels per inch at the final print size.
- Files saved in 8-bit.
Colour space
- Adobe RGB 1998 as the default workspace.
- For black & white work, stay in Adobe RGB 1998 — see Black & white printing.
- Don't apply theprintspace ICC profiles unless you're soft-proofing.
Practical tips
- Save JPEGs at quality 12 with Baseline Standard for faster upload with minimal quality loss.
- If your file is too small for the requested print size, the system will warn you. Either reduce the print size or supply a higher-resolution master.
- The platform's built-in resizing handles most cases — you don't need to manually downsample for thumbnails.
