The marketing feature works fine on its own, but connecting your accounts under Settings → Connections unlocks two things: automatic done-tracking and measured audience insights.
What you can connect
- Email platform — the mailing tool you send campaigns from (e.g. MailerLite, Mailchimp, Klaviyo).
- Instagram / Facebook — your creator or business account.
The Marketing page shows Connect your email now / connect-social prompts while a useful connection is missing. They're suggestions, not requirements.
What connections unlock
1. Automatic done-tracking. With Instagram connected, publishing a feed post marks the matching plan step done within the half hour. With email connected, a sent campaign does the same for email steps. Cards for auto-tracked steps say "tracked automatically" instead of showing a manual button.
2. Measured insights in analytics. For the drop window, the Analytics view adds what your accounts actually measured — reach, profile views, email opens/clicks — alongside the traffic your links earned, plus a cut-through figure: the share of your audience the campaign genuinely reached. It's the difference between "my post exists" and "my post reached 4% of my followers".
What the plan shows without connections
Everything else: the full plan, tracked links, manual done buttons, traffic/channel/order analytics, signups, the funnel. A dated step on a detectable family that passed without a connection shows a neutral Not tracked chip in its card detail — we genuinely don't know whether you did it, and connecting is the fix.
Privacy notes
Connections are read-only for these purposes — the plan never posts or sends anything on your behalf. Visitor analytics on your pages are cookieless, so no consent banner is required for them.
