What is creatives.new on creativehub?
creatives.new is a free service that connects brands, agencies and marketing people with freelance creative artists, such as photographers and illustrators, in order to make marketing content.

creatives.new uses its search technology to match brands looking for a certain style for their marketing content with creative artists who produce that style.
Getting the right style of creative is vital for marketing content production. You have a brand voice, which is made up from the mood and aesthetic of the marketing images you create, when applied to the type of content you are making.
Consistency in style of output by your brand is vital to maintain and grow your brand or your client’s brand. This is why our service prioritises matching you with creative artists based on style and content, making it faster for you to find the right person.
How do you search for creative talent on creatives.new?
There are 3 ways to search for creative talent on creatives.new:
- By the type of content. Just type into the search box what you are looking for. For example, if you want models on a beach type: models, beach. Or car shots with special effects: cars, special effects.
- By the style of image. Seem something you like? Have a mood board? Have a previous image you made and would like to follow that style? Simply drag and drop the image onto the browser and creatives.new will show you similar images

You can narrow down your search for a creative illustrator or photographer, by using filters, which you will find at the top of the search results screen. You can filter by:

How do I contact a someone when I find them?

We advise you to find someone who consistently matches they style you are looking for. This will ensure the highest likelihood that you will find someone who can deliver perfectly executed marketing content for you.

As soon as you find someone, message them. You will be asked to enter the following information to help the creative freelancer understand what you are looking for:
- Name and describe your project. This is to give the talent a clear sense of what you are looking for.
- Rate and project start date (optional). These fields are optional, if you don’t know you can skip them. However if you have an idea, then enter it in there. It isn’t binding in any way but it can help to quickly move forward to understanding if the job will be possible with that creative.
- Your details. Enter your name and email, so we can email you when the talent responds.
If you are contacting several talents these fields will remain pre-filled from the first contact.
Should I contact more than one creative talent on creatives.new?
Yes, it would be very good practice to speak to a few creative people you find about your project. You need to get a sense of how the creative will approach the project, and also if they are available of course.
What happens after I have contacted the creative talent?
When you have contacted the talent they get an instant email notification and notification in creativehub that you have sent a job proposal.
They can then ask you questions and you can discuss the project. As soon as the talent responds you will get an email notifying you and you can click a link to open a chat window to send your response.
In your chat window both you and the talent can add files to your messages. These files could include:
- More reference images. The more reference images you show the talent that describe what you want the better.
- A full creative brief PDF. You can upload PDFs, so for example a full creative brief, a contract, or the talent can upload a quote.
- Links. You might want to add links to your website or a Pintrest mood board.
What happens when I want to confirm the job with the photographer or illustrator?
After discussing the potential project, you may decide you want to work with the freelance photographer or illustrator. The talent first can click accept proposal to indicate they are available and up for doing the project with you. This is not binding in any way, it is just an indication the creative wants to work on your project.
You will get a notification from the talent that they have accepted your proposal. You can then click a button on that notification to proceed with the project. Clicking proceed is not binding either, but it should not be clicked unless you really want to start the job on whatever terms you have agreed with the talent.
After both you and the creative freelance photographer or illustrator have indicated you want to proceed, the following things happen:
- We create a project space in your (the client’s) account.
- The project space is named by the project name you initially proposed. You can change this if you need to.
- Both the creative talent is added to the project. You can add anyone else you need to.
- You can upload images, briefs, reference images, comment, chat, markup images and track version all from within your project space. Read this for a full list of things you can do in a project workspace.
creatives.new is free, so what’s the catch?
There isn’t one. You are free to work directly with the creative freelancer you find on our service. We don’t stand in the way or get involved. The contractual relationship is between you and the person you decide to work with. We are a discovery service for you to find new talent, we are not an agent for the talent or representing you or the talent in any way.
We do, however, have great project management tools. You can create a workspace for you and the creative talent and anyone else you want to add. You can then upload images and video, make comments, track versions and convert finished files to the formats you need. Take a closer look at our commenting tools in project workspaces.
